The issue with many of the watchmen of our day is that they are not standing in the high place. They are not watching to see what the Lord will say. They are not sitting in the Council of God. Instead, they are watching world events and local media and formulating a word that God has either not spoken or has already warned about ahead of time. The present climate catches the eye and the interests of the people, but a word from God prepares the people for what is to come and gives the wisdom of God to navigate the times.

A genuine word from God is not shock and awe but information, wisdom, warning and instructions. The prophet speaks for God at a time when that word is the needed wisdom of God to guide and direct the people. These are warnings from God designed to prepare people ahead of time for what is to come. But often, only a remnant few will have ears to hear.

On the contrary many of the present-day watchmen are speaking the popular word and have a multitude of followers. Words that come from God have clear purpose and direction, meanwhile the popular word often upon investigation is just another form of entertainment. There is no instruction from God, only a spirit of fear being promoted, or a word that directs people to the one speaking it and often for the purpose of merchandising instead of bringing glory to God. This is the time to awake from sleeping, open your eyes and discern the Spirit of God from the spirit of error.

Habakkuk 2: 1-3 2 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
